Industrial Art Sign Co. is owned by Tony Mead a traditionally trained signwriter with an innovative creative edge.

Tony has over 27 years experience in the signwriting industry, starting his sign career as an apprentice in 1979 and working for the next 16 years with several large sign companies both in Melbourne and Adelaide. Using the wide range of experiences gained at these sign businesses Tony started Industrial Art Sign Co. in 1995.

In his business, Tony wanted to expand on the usual type of trade signage that is available. He has completed courses in several areas such as marketing, marbling and wood graining, calligraphy, chalkboard art, Photoshop, and a series of Trompe L’Oeil mural painting courses with Peta Laurisen of Grand Illusions fame.

Tony’s interest in all forms of art and design has seen the company expand into areas such as 3D sculpture and display design. Owing to creative nature of Tony’s projects many have appeared in magazines and publications both local and overseas. Going forward into the future Tony would like Industrial Art Sign Co. take on more creatively challenging work and build on the projects completed to date. Industrial Art’s large contemporary warehouse is located in Spotswood, Victoria in easy reach of most Melbourne suburbs.
